Description

Mid 1970's Fort Worth Texans Game Worn Jersey - Most Likely Recycled from New York Islanders Jersey. Extremely popular team during its time in the Central Hockey League, the Fort Worth Texans are represented on this white Durene sweater that was worn by player during the mid-1970's. Featuring the No. 14 in two-color tackle twill on the back, this jersey was possibly worn by right winger Yvon Vautour, who played with the minor league team from 1976 through the 1977 season.

According to game-worn hockey jersey expert Joe Tomon, the stunning example appears to have been recycled from the NHL New York Islanders, as it presents evidence of the Islanders' crest being replaced, in addition to a nameplate being removed from the back of the jersey (Heritage hockey expert Bill Campbell believes this jersey was originally used by an Islanders player during the 1973-74 season).

Featuring the Texans' team logo patch across the front, the proper "Rawlings [size] 50" tag remains in the collar. Jersey shows nice wear, with stick and puck marks throughout, while several team repairs are displayed in the fabric.

One of the rarest jersey styles we have ever offered, this is a must-have for any serious game-worn hockey guru. LOA from Joe Tomon.
