Description
2001 Cal Ripken, Jr. Tribute Game Used Base. The Iron Man's final campaign was a hearty mix of cheers and tears, as each ballpark visit that would be Ripken's last was marked with video tributes and standing ovations. Each ballpark took an extra step to make Cal feel welcome for these last stands too, painting his jersey number "8" on each of the bases. Here we present a base used as Ripken took his last hacks at Edison International Field, the home park of the Anaheim Angels. The base shows fine use, and bears a holographic authenticating sticker from Major League Baseball on the underside. A special memento to recall the last of the old time ballplayers.Auction Info
