1966 Topps USA Test Hockey Complete Set (66) - #1 on the SGC Set Registry! Rank: #1 on the SGC Set Registry with an 84.6 GPA. Simply utter the term "USA Test" and the eye-brows of every hockey collector in the room rises with giddy anticipation. You instantly become the center of attention as all eyes are now upon you. It is that level of appeal that this 66-card series still commands to this day. The cards saw very little distribution in the United States earning this prized edition unquestionably the rarest hockey cards of the 1960's and most other eras. Their look parallels the more common variety but the format is distinct. The test cards lack the French language text on the reverse, the richly colored wood grain borders are somewhat lighter in appearance and they fully deserve the "Made in the USA" label. In addition to the appearance of hockey immortals Bobby Orr (His trading card debut) and Gordie Howe, the modest 66-player roster also offers an ample listing of some of the greatest players of the 1960's.
