Description

1954 World Series Game One Willie Mays Makes "The Catch" Ticket Stub, PSA VG-EX 4. On September 29, 1954, Cleveland Indian Vic Wertz crushed a Don Liddle pitch 420 feet deep in Game 1 of the World Series. With the score tied up 2-2 against the New York Giants in the eighth inning, all fans turned and watched as Willie Mays made an over-the-shoulder catch at the warning track, running full speed. The play held Larry Doby at third base and preserved the score at 2-2.

This ticket stub endured the turnstiles but survived remarkably. The offered ticket presents superbly. At the time of this writing, there are only 13 at this grade with one superior example of this historic ticket. Encapsulated by PSA, VG- EX 4.
