2000 Playoff Contenders Tom Brady Rookie Ticket Autograph #144 BGS Mint 9 - 10 Autograph. Tom Brady entered the NFL with no fireworks or confetti showers. As impossible as it seems today, he was the 199th overall pick in the 2000 draft. The 2000 season opened with Brady as the #4 quarterback for the Patriots. He would complete only one of three passes for six yards. In 2001 he took the reins of the New England Patriots from an injured Drew Bledsoe. The rest of this story is NFL history. Brady went on to appear in eight Super Bowls (the only player to do so for one team), winning five of them. He has been in over a dozen Pro Bowls; Voted NFL Most Valuable Player three times; NFL Passing Yards leader three times; NFL Passing Touchdowns leader four times; 2000's NFL All-Decade Team honoree plus other awards and accolades. At 41 with no signs of stopping anytime soon, Brady has amassed over 5,700 completions on over 8,950 attempts (64%); He has thrown for over 500 touchdowns amassing over 67,000 passing yards. He is a first-time HoF inductee if there ever was one.To this day the Contenders issue still remains one of the most popular among modern football card collectors largely in part to the rookie ticket design. This Tom Brady rookie ticket autograph is arguably the best card ever to be released by Playoff Contenders. The card has been graded BGS Mint 9 - 10 Autograph (Subgrades: Centering 9.5, Corners 9, Edges 8.5, Surface 9).
