2003 Upper Deck LeBron James Rookie Boxed Set (Oversized Autograph) BGS NM-MT 8 - #'d 8/23, Auto 10.UPDATE: Lot text has been rewritten after catalog printing.
"Only time will tell," reads the text on obverse of this oversized (3.5x8") card, "whether the teen will rule the NBA as well."
Eighteen years later, time has spoken loudly, and it has answered in the affirmative. This massive rookie card of is one of the rarest and most impressive honoring a teenaged King James, a miracle of an insert card "pull" limited to a stingy limited edition of just twenty-three. This particular specimen is number eight, a digit that will recall his close and tragic friend Kobe Bryant.
Considering the skyrocketing pricing of the rookie cards of Michael Jordan, the man whose name will always join James in any debate regarding ultimate hardcourt supremacy, the future looks blindingly bright for this far rarer (and larger) LeBron representation.
Our offered card is graded BGS NM-MT 8 with subgrades: Centering 9.5, Corners 8.5, Edges 9, Surface 7. Limited edition - #'d 08/23 by another hand. Autograph grade is a perfect 10.
