2001 Albert Pujols Game Used Rookie Bat. Is he a better hitter than Ted Williams? We aren't quite ready to make that sacrilegious proclamation just yet, but it's at least a matter for debate. Still short of ten complete seasons at the time of this writing, Pujols has already topped 400 home runs, has 2,000 hits in his 2011 sights, and averages a staggering .331. Should these numbers continue, there's no doubt that Pujols will find a place at the uppermost reaches of the hitting pantheon with The Kid, The Babe and The Georgia Peach. And, believe us, you'll wish you had purchased this rare 2001 Rawlings Big Stick 456B, utilized during Prince Albert's National League Rookie of the Year campaign. The "01" stamp on the knob end allows us (and the experts at MEARS) to definitively date the moderate use to that proud debut season, with deeply imbedded stitch marks and grain swelling on the barrel still bearing witness to the Dominican slugger's outrageous power. Pujols' grip tape remains on the lightly cracked handle, and his name is markered on the knob end. We must note that the letter from MEARS states that they have been unable to locate images of Pujols using a rose-colored Rawlings during his rookie season, but he definitely did use the brand.
