Description

1968 Jack In The Box San Diego Rockets Near Set (12/14) - #8 on the PSA Set Registry. Rank: #8 on the PSA Set registry with a 9.32 GPA. In 1968 Jack-In-The-Box produced a 14-card set which showcased the players from the newly formed San Diego Rockets. These cards are among the precious few basketball cards to be circulated on any scale since the Fleer edition some seven years prior. Single examples are tough to acquire, a near set of 12 is a scarce commodity. With every card a rookie card, this set features the "true" rookie cards of HoFers Elvin Hayes and Pat Riley. The Henry Finkle and Harry Barnes cards (not included, sorry) are short-printed and are extremely rare. Includes: Graded - PSA Gem MT 10: 6 cards, Jim Barnett, Elvin Hayes, Don Kojis, Stuart Lantz, Bobby Smith and Art Williams; PSA Mint 9: 3 cards, Toby Kimball, Pat Riley and John Trapp; PSA NM/MT+ 8.5: 2 cards, John Block and Bernie Williams; PSA NM-MT 8: 1 card, Rick Adelman. A fine addition to any basketball collection.
