Description

1994 Cal Ripken Jr. Game Used & Signed All-Star Game Bat, PSA/DNA GU 10 & Ripken Letter! Many believe Cal Ripken Jr. saved baseball during its darkest hours. Following the 1994 player's strike, the sport had an uphill battle as the World Series was canceled and fans were in an upheaval. The healing process was eased by Ripken and his chase of Lou Gehrig's consecutive games streak.

This Louisville Slugger model P72 bat (35" and 33.8 ounces) was used at the 1994 All-Star Game and comes with provenance from Ripken. Ripken's signed letter of provenance states he hit a double with the uncracked lumber at Three Rivers Stadium. John Taube's letter classifies the use as "excellent" with cleat marks and a few ball marks suggesting use. Pine tar decorates the handle. A sticker has been placed on the handle, by Ripken according to the PSA/DNA LOA, stating: "Game Bat 94 All Star Game 2 BH Double." This was Ripken's way of inventorying his collection. Ripken signed the barrel and added "1994 All Star Game" in silver paint pen. Letter of provenance signed by Cal Ripken. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 10. Full LOA from PSA/DNA (autograph).
