Description

1968 Venezuela Topps Nolan Ryan - Mets Rookie Stars #177 PSA Poor 1. Hall of Fame righthander Nolan Ryan was one of the most successful (and durable) pitchers in the annals of Major League Baseball. In a career that spanned 27 seasons and four different teams, Ryan registered 324 wins and pitched 222 complete games. He also set the Major League records in strikeouts (5,714) as well as no-hitters (seven). He was inducted into Cooperstown in 1999.

Offered is an exceedingly rare example of Ryan's 1968 Topps rookie card from Venezuela. On the card, he shares equal billing with fellow New York Mets pitcher Jerry Koosman. Card #177 from the '68 Venezuela Topps release offers close-ups of both hurlers who helped the Mets win the franchise's first World Series championship the following year. Graded PSA Poor 1.
