1956 Topps Mickey Mantle (Gray Back) #135 PSA NM 7. Offered is a 1956 Topps card featuring New York Yankees All-Star center fielder Mickey Mantle at the height of his prolific career. The '56 MLB campaign saw Mantle put together one of the greatest seasons in baseball history by not only claiming the AL MVP Award, but securing the elusive Triple Crown as well after leading the league in batting average (.353), home runs (52) and runs batted in (130). Card #135 from the '56 Topps series shows the burly slugger by way of a smiling headshot coupled with an action shot of him leaping high to snare a long fly ball from landing in souvenir country. This gray-back variation of card #135, which is found in high-grade form, simply adds a layer of rarity to this already highly coveted card of Mantle.
