1948 Leaf Jackie Robinson Rookie #79 SGC VG 3. When Hall of Famer Jackie Robinson started at first base for the Brooklyn Dodgers on April 15, 1947, he changed the game of baseball forever. As an African American, he broke Major League Baseball's longstanding color barrier that memorable day and opened the door for countless opportunities for players of color to play, compete and succeed at the Major League level. Offered is Robinson's prized 1948 Leaf rookie card. Card #79 from the colorful Leaf series shares a handsome headshot of Jackie sporting his Dodgers cap and smiling back at the photographer.
