Description

1939 Play Ball Ted Williams #92 PSA EX 5. Ted Williams was a hitting sensation during his Hall of Fame career with the Boston Red Sox. Over 19 seasons, "Teddy Ballgame" blasted 521 home runs, knocked in 1,839 runs and won six American League batting titles. He was also named AL MVP in two different seasons (1946 and '49) and remains the last MLB player to ever crack the .400 plateau; he batted .406 in 1941. And let's not forget that Ted missed nearly five complete seasons due to his equally impressive military service.

Offered is Williams' 1939 Play Ball rookie card, which shows the man nicknamed "The Splendid Splinter" taking a big cut in front of the photographer. Card #92 from the black-and-white 1939 Play Ball set is found in Excellent condition with a clean surface (front and back) and four good-looking corners. For anyone piecing together a Ted Williams master set, this is a must-have card. Graded PSA EX 5.
