Description

1933 Uncle Jacks Candy "Babe" Ruth ("King Of Swat") PSA Poor 1. This ultra-rare thirty-card issue was distributed only in the candy company's New England home territory, and in supplies so meager that today, less than 300 cards from the entirety of the set appear within the joint population reports of SGC and PSA. The creators of the issue chose its roster well, as the set is packed with Hall of Fame talent including Frisch, Hornsby, Foxx, Grove and Lazzeri, but of course the iconic Bambino is considered the key entry.

Graded PSA Poor 1. Only ten Ruth cards have been submitted for assessment by the good folks at PSA, and the presented example is one of two rated at this level. The simple, blank-backed design features a monochromatic photographic image on the obverse, enhanced only by identifying text which reads, "'Babe' Ruth, 'King of Swat.'" A spectacular rarity for the advanced Ruth collector.
