2005 LeBron James NBA All-Star Weekend Rising Stars Game Worn &
Signed Sneakers--Photo Matched! If you've never seen the
commercial, do yourself a favor and look it up. LeBron's "Chamber
of Fear" is presented in Nike's delicious blend of old school
kung-fu and Japanese anime formats, challenging the young legend to
face his five greatest fears: hype, temptation, haters, complacency
and self-doubt. This second edition of LeBron's signature sneakers
for the sport's top footwear brand is still the favorite of many
sneakerheads who love the bold red text at the left ankle strap and
the dazzling array of patterning with "LJ" on the white rubber, red
designs at the toes and tongues, and perforated white leather
throughout.It is this patterning that provides an ironclad photo match to the 2005 NBA Rising Stars Game--an All-Star Weekend event that saw James and his Sophomores romp over the Rookies to a final result of 133-106. James scored twenty in twenty-seven minutes of action along with fellow current and future Hall of Famers Chris Bosh, Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony.
Like the 2003 Michael Jordan sneakers likewise on offer in this Platinum Night auction, these shoes were acquired and consigned by a multi-year NBA All-Star who has requested anonymity. It's apparent he has taken good care of these special Nikes, and the bold black sharpie signature on the "Chamber of Fear" shoe, over the nearly two decades since King James bestowed them upon him.
