Description

A Boston Celtics legend wins one for the enemy!

1972 Los Angeles Lakers NBA Championship Ring (Coach K.C. Jones). Part of the most dominant dynasty in NBA history, this Hall of Fame point guard won eight NBA championships with the Boston Celtics during his spectacular decade as a player before continuing on to earn four more as a coach. This ring is the first of his coaching career, earned as he crossed the country and the border of the sport's most heated rivalry to join a Los Angeles Lakers team stacked with fellow future Hall of Famers like Wilt Chamberlain, Elgin Baylor and Jerry West.

An included letter of provenance from K.C. Jones, Jr. tells us that his dad only briefly wore this ring as he'd be named head coach of the San Diego Conquistadors of the ABA for the 1972-73 season, but proud wear can still be spotted on this important commemorative of elite athletic achievement.

A real diamond is set into a figural basketball on the ring face at the center of raised text trumpeting, "NBA World Champions." Left shank features the NBA logo and "1972" vintage, while right shank identifies the Hall of Fame recipient above a Lakers team logo and the words, "33 Straight, 69-13." Interior band is stamped, "Balfour 14K" and measures to a size twelve (12). Weight is thirty-six grams (36 g.). Letter of provenance from son of K.C. Jones.
