1949 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball, PSA/DNA NM-MT+ 8.5. Despite posting just a single winning season in eight years of Big League managerial service, Casey Stengel earned the role of skipper of the New York Yankees in 1949 amidst the loud protestations of local sportswriters and fans alike. Come October, however, all Bronx faithful were singing a much different tune, as the Ol' Perfesser led the club to its first of five consecutive World Championship crowns. He's quite rare on team balls but is counted among the twenty-six bold black ink signatures here, which average 9/10 according to the experts at PSA/DNA. Other notables include DiMaggio, Rizzuto, Berra, Reynolds, Woodling, Crosetti, Raschi, Coleman, Page and Hall of Fame broadcaster Mel Allen.
