Description

1904 Polo Grounds Labor Day New York Giants vs. Boston Braves Panoramic Photograph. The Polo Grounds, located in Upper Manhattan, New York City, was a historic sports venue renowned for its unique horseshoe shape and deep center field. Originally built in the late 19th century, it served as the home for multiple major league baseball teams, most notably the New York Giants, and also hosted football games, including those of the New York Jets. The stadium was the site of many iconic moments in sports history, such as Willie Mays' famous over-the-shoulder catch in the 1954 World Series. Its significance extends beyond sports, as it also hosted numerous other events, making it a cultural landmark until its demolition in 1964.

Offered is a 20x40" frame that holds a panoramic photograph of a Labor Day matchup between the N.Y. Giants and Boston Braves. Moderate wear exhibited on the frame. Photograph appears attached to a backing with some edge wear.
