1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle #253 BVG Good+ 2.5. The kid from Commerce was still wearing his hated number "6" jersey when he posed for the image that would be used upon his rookie card. Though his early struggles almost convinced Mickey to hang up his bat at age twenty, his perseverance led to Hall of Fame immortality and turned this card from a mere "common" into the most valued card in the popular set.
