Description

Signed 1958 Topps Roger Maris Rookie #47 PSA VG-EX 4, PSA/DNA Auto 10. Roger Maris was a two-time AL MVP who surpassed Babe Ruth's longstanding single-season record for home runs by blasting 61 round-trippers in 1961. A solid right fielder, Maris, unfortunately, passed away at age 51 in 1985, just before the autograph craze really took off on players' cards. Offered is Roger's prized 1958 Topps rookie card that features the slugger in deep concentration. This example of card #47 from the '58 Topps set is found in Very Good-Excellent condition with good color, great centering and a clean reverse. The example of Maris's RC is greatly enhanced by his cherished signature in blue ballpoint ink that graces the front. Graded PSA VG-EX 4 with an autograph certified and graded PSA/DNA Auto 10. This is one of five autographed cards found in the PSA Pop Report that's graded VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT with 14 rated higher.
