Vintage Signed 1954 Topps Al Kaline #201 PSA Authentic, PSA/DNA Auto 7 - From The Al Kaline Collection.Update: This card was kept by the Kaline family and signed by the Hall of Famer when he was a rookie. This was stored in the family scrapbook for years before it was recently unearthed by the family.
This 1954 Topps rookie card captures up-and-coming slugger Al Kaline of the Detroit Tigers. A .297 lifetime hitter, Kaline spent his entire 22-year MLB career with the Tigers and registered 3,007 hits along the way, packing plenty of power at the plate, he launched 399 home runs and drove in 1,582 runs. Known affectionately as "Mr. Tiger," Kaline nearly won the American League's MVP Award four separate times, but never actually took it home. He would eventually make his way to Cooperstown as a first-ballot inductee in 1980. The offered example of his popular RC (#201) is even more sought-after due to the fact that Kaline's signature graces the front. He signed it just below his chin in blue ink. Encapsulated PSA Authentic with a certified autograph graded PSA/DNA Auto 7.
