Description
1919 World Series Game One Ticket Stub, PSA Authentic. With the possible exception of the inaugural Fall Classic in 1903, the most sought after and desirable World Series artifacts date to the scandalous October of 1919, when Shoeless Joe and seven Black Sox teammates conspired to take a dive for the money. White Sox star pitcher Eddie Cicotte intentionally beaned the first Reds batter he faced on October 1, 1919, signaling to the underworld that the fix was on and dooming himself and seven more to baseball ignominy. The presented stub for this most consequential date in Dead Ball history exhibits expected wear from the beginning of the end for the Black Sox. Comes with 5.5x8.25" Cincy team photo which was once part of sheet music.Auction Info
