1964 Topps Phillies Rookies (Allen, Herrnstein) #243 PSA NM-MT 8. Presented is a 1964 Topps "Phillies Rookie Stars" card that shines the spotlight on a pair of up-and-comers: Richie Allen (third baseman) and John Herrnstein (first baseman). Allen turned in an outstanding freshman campaign, one in which he won NL Rookie of the Year honors after batting .318 with 29 home runs and 91 RBI. This example of card #243 from the '64 Topps series is found with good color and centering. Allen was recently honored posthumously with election to Cooperstown.
