Description

1916 Green-Joyce Joe Jackson #87 SGC Authentic -- The Only SGC Graded Example! Joe Jackson might have missed most of the card sets of the 1909-11 era but that was not the case by the mid-teens where he is a common addition to the trading card sets of that era. Offered is what could possibly be his rarest card -- a "Green-Joyce - Department of Sports" card #87 from 1916. Of the multitude of brands created from the 200-man roster we now designate M101-4 and M101-5 the Green-Joyce brand is among the rarest and when found, the name is often whispered in reverence. Green-Joyce was anchored in Columbus, OH and based on the obviously small number of available cards, this brand probably never saw circulation outside of the Ohio state line.

Encapsulated SGC Authentic. Our offered card is the right now the only card rated by SGC and the known supply only goes up by two when one adds the PSA census numbers. The offered card exhibits a very mild toning on the reverse and a very nicely centered batting pose. Joe Jackson cards in any condition are treasured additions leaving a vast gulf between supply and demand fueled by the legendary slugger's supreme baseball relevance.
