Description

1984 Kirby Puckett Game Used & Signed Rookie Fielder's Glove, PSA/DNA Authentic.

UPDATE: This lot includes a LOA from John Taube.

Kirby Puckett's personality matched his on-field ability. The bowling ball sized Puck led the Twins, usually the laughingstock of the American League, to two World Series titles during his Hall of Fame career. Puck's unconventional road to Cooperstown is unlike almost every other man who has a bust in the hall. After receiving no scholarship offers following his high school graduation, Puckett ended up working on an assembly line at the Ford Motor Company.

Eventually Puckett played baseball at Bradley University which began his journey to greatness. The offered glove has a labeling period of 1984 which links it to his first season in Minnesota. "34" is written on the Rawlings manufacturer's label on the wrist and "Puck" is still visible in fading black marker near the index finger slot. The model HOH-80TF glove is created from "Heart of the Hide" leather and features the "Trap-eze" web. "Gold Glove Series" and a year code (ABB01) are near a vintage Puckett blue felt tip signature. Good pocket wear is present so Puckett used this for some time. One of the most significant relics from early in Puckett's career. This was with him before he won six Gold Gloves at the Major League level. LOA from John Taube. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
