1927 Honey Boy Ice Cream Babe Ruth #14 SGC 84 NM 7 - Pop One, None Higher The immense popularity of Babe Ruth reached well past the Canadian border. This wholly obscure 21-card series of course had to have a card of the larger-than-life home run star. Assumed to have been issued the year of of his record-breaking sixty home run, World Championship campaign of 1927, this card was unquestionably the most coveted of the Honey Boy subjects at the time of issue. The rugged profile is of a young Babe, still with the Boston Red Sox but this would have mattered not to the young Ice Cream fan who relished the chance to own a portrait of his baseball hero. The card itself has survived the test of time quite well. Any Honey Boy makes for an impressive addition to any vintage collection. To add the "Babe" is an opportunity not to be missed. A stunning example of the rare card. Graded SGC 84 NM 7, one of only four total examples graded to date.Auction Info
