Description

1931 New York Yankees Team Signed Baseball. In Joe McCarthy's first season at the helm of the mighty Bronx Bombers, Marse Joe steered his team to a what most franchises would consider a banner season. Yet despite winning ninety-four games and fielding a roster with a jaw-dropping ten future Hall of Famers, the Yanks finished a distant 13.5 games behind Connie Mack's Men in Philly.

OAL (Barnard) baseball is signed by thirteen, including five of the aforementioned Cooperstown residents, namely, Babe Ruth (sweet spot), Lou Gehrig, Bill Dickey, Tony Lazzeri and Earle Combs. Others in attendance include Lyn Lary, Roy Sherid, Sam Byrd, Ben Chapman, Dusty Cooke, Dixie Walker and two more which have since faded from view.

The ball has aged to a brownish tone, with the league and Ernest Barnard stamps still very visible. Meanwhile, the black steel-tip fountain pen signatures vary in strength, with Babe and Lou registering a 6.5/10 and a7.5/10, respectively. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
