Description
1903 E107 Breisch-Williams (Type 2) Napoleon Lajoie SGC Authentic - One of Only Three SGC Graded Examples! Stepping it up on the E107 rarity scale are the mysterious cards simply called "Type II" cards which stand out due to the thicker (solely by E107 standards) card stock, all are hand cut and the fact they are obviously quite a bit more rare than the usual E107. Only a select roster of players (eight so far) are known on the type II roster with a pivotal rookie card debut of Hall of Famer Napoleon Lajoie of the Cleveland Naps! On any list of baseball's elite the name "Lajoie" will appear. The turn-of-the-century hero was at the top of the sport earning him elite status with others of his day such as Young, Mathewson, Johnson, Wagner and Cobb. Encapsulated SGC Authentic. For obvious reasons. This example is one of only three total type II cards graded by SGC! Efficacy must have been the utmost importance to someone as borders have been dropped down to just outside the central portrait and caption. Condition aside, this is a key subject one of the most historically significant productions in the hobby.Auction Info
