2001 San Diego Padres Team Signed Baseball. The 2001 San Diego Padres finished with a 79-83 record, placing fourth in the National League West during a transitional phase for the franchise. Managed by Bruce Bochy, the team was adjusting to the post-Tony Gwynn era, as the legendary outfielder played his final season that year. Phil Nevin and Ryan Klesko led the offense, both posting strong power numbers, while rookie infielder Damian Jackson showed promise. The pitching staff was inconsistent, with injuries and a lack of depth affecting performance. Despite the losing record, the season was significant for honoring Gwynn's retirement and beginning a shift toward rebuilding the roster.Offered is a Rawlings OML-Selig baseball signed by more than 25 members of the squad.
