Description

1960s & 1970s New York Jets Publications & Ephemera. The New York Jets, founded in 1960 as the Titans of New York, began as a charter member of the American Football League (AFL) before rebranding as the Jets in 1963. The team's most iconic moment came in 1969, when quarterback Joe Namath famously guaranteed-and then delivered-a victory over the heavily favored Baltimore Colts in Super Bowl III, securing the Jets' only championship and giving the AFL credibility in its competition with the NFL. After the AFL-NFL merger, the Jets struggled to maintain consistent success, often falling short of playoff contention despite periods of talent and promise, such as the 1982 playoff run with quarterback Richard Todd and the 1998 AFC Championship game led by coach Bill Parcells. Although the Jets have faced ups and downs, their loyal fan base and rich history make them a memorable and resilient part of New York sports culture, with hopes for future success and a return to Super Bowl contention.

Offered is an assortment of New York Jets-related ephemera, including a audio publication celebrating their only Super Bowl win, a miniature plastic football, Joe Namath biography (children's level) and personal care products such as brush and shoe horn.
