1954 Topps Willie Mays #90 SGC VG/EX 4. The 1954 Topps #90 Willie Mays card is a cornerstone of vintage baseball card collecting, marking Willie Mays's return to the hobby following his military service during the 1952 and 1953 seasons. Mays won the National League MVP Award in 1954 after an incredible season, hitting .345 with 41 home runs, 110 RBIs, and 119 runs scored. He also led the league in slugging percentage (.667) and OPS (1.078), while showcasing his signature blend of power, speed, and defensive brilliance. And who can forget World Series Game 1 when Mays made his legendary over-the-shoulder catch (known simply as "The Catch") deep in center field at the Polo Grounds, robbing Vic Wertz of extra bases and preserving a tie game in the 8th inning.
