Description

1887-90 N172 Old Judge Emil Geiss (#182-6) SGC 40 VG 3. Emil Geiss was a 19th-century ballplayer who briefly appeared in the major leagues as both a pitcher and position player, a common versatility in the early days of professional baseball. He played for the Chicago White Stockings (now the Cubs) in 1887, a team that featured several of the game's pioneering stars. Though his big-league career was short, Geiss remains part of the sport's formative years, when baseball was rapidly growing in popularity and organization.

The 1887-90 N172 Old Judge Emil Geiss (#182-6) is part of Goodwin & Co.'s historic Old Judge set, one of the most significant and expansive baseball card issues ever produced. Graded SGC 40 VG 3.
