Description
1997-98 Ray Bourque Game Worn Jersey Signed by Boston Bruins Team. A staple of the Boston Bruins defense for over two decades, Bourque rates near the top of most experts' lists compiling the greatest NHL players of all time. This fantastic specimen dates from Bourque's nineteenth of twenty-one seasons in gold and black, and exhibits wonderful use that illustrates the hard-hitting style with which he paved a path to the Hall of Fame. All of the key factors in an ideal Bourque jersey are present here, with custom shortened sleeves, team repairs, stick marks, board burns and interior pilling wear all in evidence. The team logo "B" on the chest is joined by his captain's "C," with "Bourque 77" likewise applied in gold and black tackle twill on verso. Number "77" is repeated on each sleeve, below team logo bear patches. A velcro button style fight strap is in place in rear tail. Proper "Starter" tagging is found in interior collar, with "56-R" size designation. The jersey provides superb provenance to match its regal heritage, sourced from the personal collection of team trainer Kenny "Doc" Flager. Twenty-two black NRMT and better black sharpie signatures decorate the chest of the jersey, many personalized to Doc. Among the signers are Bourque himself, Samsonov, Donato, DiMaio, Axelsson and Thornton. The end result is a Bourque jersey that would only be at home in the finest of private collections.
