Description
Massive Original Painting of Chavez Ravine by Jurinko. Absolutely enormous and exceptionally detailed artwork captures the action of a May 30, 1987 meeting between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Philadelphia Phillies as seen from the lower deck of Dodger Stadium. Orel Hershiser pitches to Luis Aguayo, and in the field we can spot Steve Sax, Pedro Guererro and the rest of the Dodgers squad. The three-panel triptych measures an outrageous 64x222", just short of nineteen feet from end to end. Prints from this mural-sized original measuring 13x36" sell for $240 at Jurinko's gallery. Jurinko's work has been showcased in galleries and museums nationwide, and featured in such publications as Sports Illustrated, New York Magazine, Barron's and The New York Times. Several are in the permanent collection of the Baseball Hall of Fame at Cooperstown. Jurinko's studio was located 300 feet from the South Tower of the World Trade center, and was destroyed on September 11, 2001. Thankfully, this fine work survived, and we are pleased to offer it here to the collecting world.Auction Info
