Description
1895 Mayo's Cut Plug N300 Cap Anson SGC VG/EX 50. He was our National Pastime's first superstar, and the first to summit the lofty 3,000 hit plateau. At the time of this card's production, Cap was in his twenty-fifth year of active duty, easily the oldest ballplayer in the League at forty-three. He still looks fit as a fiddle though, and quite dashing with his silver hair, handlebar mustache and dark necktie. His card is equally handsome, with the totality of wear confined to the light chipping along the black borders, leaving the image area relatively free and clear. Presents much better than its entirely respectable VG/EX ranking.Auction Info
