Description

Late 1950's Rocky Colavito Game Used Bat. At the time he retired, Rocky Colavito ranked third all-time in home runs by a right-hander, after Jimmie Foxx and Harmon Killebrew. That's some hefty company for a non-Hall of Famer. From 1956-66 he hit twenty or more home runs every season, including forty-plus three times. Besides 374 long balls, Colavito also amassed 1,730 hits and 1,159 RBI.

Offered in this lot is a thirty-five inch, thirty-one ounce "Louisville Slugger Model 125." The knob is marked with "K55" and the bat does have a MEARS Authentic sticker on the barrel end, although no paperwork. Extreme game use is evident on this bat, marked by large divots and chunks missing from the end of the barrel, multiple chunks out of the knob, and a large area of staining (oil?) under the Louisville Slugger logo.
