Description
1911 Barney Dreyfuss Signed Letter. The 2008 Hall of Fame inductee is best remembered today as the former owner of the Pittsburgh Pirates, builder of Forbes Field, and the founder of the World Series, the sport's most celebrated contest. He remains a fearsome obstacle for collectors of Hall of Fame autographs, having passed from this world over eight decades ago.This typed letter is signed by the executive on Pittsburgh Athletic Company letterhead to "My dear Fred," almost certainly his Hall of Fame umpire Fred Clarke, regarding Boston players available on waivers. Artful closing autograph rates 7/10. Original mailing folds but no other issues of note. Dimensions of page 11x8.5". Full LOA from James Spence Authentication. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
