Description
1928 Amsterdam Summer Olympics Souvenir Charger. Treading a line between the reigning Art Deco aesthetic and the influence of ancient Greece, this souvenir wall hanging (19.5" diameter) survives in splendid condition, with individual motifs at the edges celebrating various Olympic sports from cycling to sailing to swimming to equestrianism. Text at center announces (translated) "Olympic Games 1928 Amsterdam." Metal construction.Auction Info
