Description

1992 Derek Jeter Single Signed Baseball--One of the Last Signed as an Amateur! A detailed and notarized letter of provenance from the former Mayor of Battle Creek, Michigan--the hometown of Derek Jeter--tells the story of Yankees personnel arriving in town to watch their new draft pick playing with his last amateur team, the Kalamazoo Maroons. The Yankees, Jeter and his parents came to an agreement on Saturday evening but the terms would be canceled if Jeter was injured in Sunday's championship game, so the young shortstop sat in the dugout in his street clothes. It was there that the Mayor of Battle Creek and tournament organizer Albert Bobrofsky and his assistant presented three baseballs for signing. This is one of them.

The black felt tip signature rates 8/10 on the side panel of the Official A.A.B.C. (American Amateur Baseball Congress) sphere, which is stark white. Very similar to the 1992 Jeter single that Heritage sold in December 2017 for $15,600. The ball is accompanied by newspaper clippings recounting this event. Notarized letter of provenance from Mayor of Battle Creek. Newspaper clippings. Full LOA from PSA/DNA. Full LOA from Beckett Authentication Services.
