Description

1890's Baseball Doll. Miraculously preserved doll recalls the game when legends like Honus Wagner and Napoleon Lajoie were just getting started. The body is constructed of wire and cloth, our little friend dressed in a road grey uniform with orange socks and undershirt. The head is a delicate, handpainted construction of paper mache with glued-on glass eyes, providing a whimsical and utterly charming appearance. One of three early dolls presented within this auction.
