Description
1926-27 Toronto St. Patricks Program. Starting as an amateur ice hockey organization in 1917, the Toronto Arenas club purchased the Toronto National Hockey League franchise from the NHL in 1919 and were renamed the "Toronto St. Patrick's". A Stanley Cup winner in 1922, the St. Pats operated the franchise until 1927, when it was sold to a partnership of Conn Smythe and Toronto investors, and they became the Toronto Maple Leafs.Offered here is an ultra-rare original St. Patricks game program from the team's final season and it contains an astounding 94 pages, as it was most likely the same program used for each game during the 1926-27 season. Exhibiting "Good" condition throughout, with moderate paper loss on the cover's edges and scrapbook glue remnants on the verso, the program presents superb imagery of Toronto-area team photographs and more throughout the pages. Names such as Conn Smythe, Happy Day, Busher Jackson, captain Bert Corbeau are just some of the greats represented throughout this amazing artifact from Toronto's old Mutual Street Arena. The first of its kind that Heritage hockey expert Bill Campbell has ever seen, it will surely attract the attention from the most discerning vintage hockey gurus in the hobby.
