1926 Max Carey Transfer from Pittsburgh to Brooklyn Signed by Samuel Dreyfuss. Max Carey, a Hall of Fame outfielder known for his base-stealing prowess, was transferred from the Pittsburgh Pirates to the Brooklyn Robins in 1926. This move ended his long tenure with Pittsburgh, marking a significant chapter in his illustrious career.

This transfer letter from the Pittsburgh Athletic Company (6.25x4") granted Carey his move to the Brooklyn Robins August 18, 1926. Samuel Dreyfuss, son of Hall of Famer Barney Dreyfuss, signed on for the Pirates club. A paperclip mark is visible on the upper left corner. Please note: Samuel Dreyfuss, who was to succeed his father Barney as team president, died unexpectedly in 1931. His autograph is rarer than Barney's. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
