1956 Cortina Winter Olympic Games Bronze Winner's Medal. Showcasing what is arguably one of the most beautiful Olympic medal designs ever created, its magnificent artistry is beautifully enhanced by a special patina intended to create a connection to the ancient Games. This very medal was presented to a celebrated athlete atop the winner's platform during the 1956 Winter Olympiad, whose performance proved to be among the finest in their event. The 1956 Cortina winner's medals, the last to be issued without the accompaniment of a chain or ribbon, were also presented without additional engraving that linked them to a specific event/athlete.
