Description

1957 Topps Bob Cousy Rookie # 17 SGC 80 EX-NM 6. Bob Cousy, nicknamed the "Houdini of the Hardwood," was the skillful, playmaking point guard for the Boston Celtics from 1951 to 1962. Teaming with Hall of Fame center Bill Russell, Cousy helped the C's win six NBA titles before he hung up his sneakers. Along the way, he was a 13-time NBA All-Star and the league's assists leader in eight different seasons. For good measure, he was also named the NBA's MVP in 1957. Presented is Cousy's coveted 1957 Topps rookie card, which shows him dribbling up court, ready to dish off a no-look pass to a cutting teammate. This example of card #17 from the 1957-58 Topps series is in mid-grade form with outstanding color, but suffers from centering issues and some surface wear. Graded SGC 80 EX-NM 6. Of the 371 examples found in the SGC Pop Report, this is one of 23 cards graded EXCELLENT-NEAR MINT with 19 cards rated higher.
