Description
1964 Kahn's Wieners Football High-Grade Complete Set (53). Kahn's wieners, based in Cincinnati, had quite the run of sports card releases from 1955 through 1969. This offered 1964 Kahn's Wieners Football complete set of 53 cards was the final set of football cards and is widely regarded as the most coveted. The front of the cards utilized the full color photography that was coming into vogue at the time and the simplicity is marvelous. A full color photo of the player on the front of the card without the company branding. The back of the card features stats for the player depicted on the front and is presented by Kahn's "The Wiener the World Awaited" on the bottom of the card. The advertising is not as obnoxious as one might find today. A total of 13 cards have been graded by PSA. Includes: Graded - PSA MINT 9: 1 card, Parker; PSA NM-MT+ 8.5: 2 cards, Mitchell, Unitas; PSA NM-MT 8: 6 cards, Huff, Johnson, Lane, Taylor, Tittle, Warfield; PSA NM 7: Hornung, Starr, Tarkenton; PSA EX-MT 6: Brown. Ungraded - Ditka (NM), George (EX/MT), Karras (EX/MT), Meredith (EX/MT), Ringo (NM), Schmidt (NM). Grades 75% NM to NM/MT, 25% EX to EX/MT (a couple lesser).Auction Info
