Description
2003 Joe Mauer Game Used Bat, PSA/DNA GU 9.5. The three-time American League batting champion was just powering up for ascension into the Major League ranks when he used this Louisville Slugger model I13 bat (34" and 31.7 ounces) in 2003. Given Mauer's larger-than-life status since he was drafted first overall in 2001, it is no surprise he had a contract with Louisville Slugger.Uncracked, the bat shows outstanding use with ball marks on the front and back barrel from repeated contact. Slight checking is featured on the back barrel along with a number of ink smudges from contact. Cleat marks and blue back rack streaks are also visible. There is mention of a letter of authenticity from United States Baseball Federation but that provenance is no longer present. The earliest Mauer game used bat we have handled. LOA from PSA/DNA, GU 9.5.
