Signed 1948 Bowman George Stirnweiss Rookie #35 PSA Authentic, PSA/DNA Auto 9. This 1948 Leaf rookie card features New York Yankees infielder George "Snuffy" Stirnweiss. Card #35 from the historic '48 Bowman series captures Stirnweiss in a black-and-white photo posing as if he's trying to turn a double play from second base. Stirnweiss, who stood just 5' 8" tall, was a fan favorite in the Bronx, where he won a batting title in 1945, and eventually in Cleveland where he went to play his final two big league seasons. What makes this example even more special is that Stirnweiss, who passed away prematurely in 1958 at the age of 39, signed the front of it in blue ink.
