Description
1968 Topps 3-D Roberto Clemente PSA VG-EX 4. The late-1960's and early 1970's was a very productive era for Topps who tested various projects utilizing a wide assortment of treatments. A full two years before Kellogg's picked up the "Xograph" technology that gave cards a 3-Dimensional appearance, Topps test marketed an extremely limited number of cards of a dozen players, the key subject from the group is Roberto Clemente. 1968 Topps 3-D cards are found with a blank back or with a stamp saying cards are not for resale and to return to Visual Panographics, Inc.If you are a fan of baseball history, this portrait of Clemente is is almost beyond compare. Knowing his fate combined with the 3D effect and you can't help but be impressed. If you have the means to add this card to your collection, it is an addition richly deserved. There is an extremely faint surface scratch to account for the grade. Graded PSA VG-EX 4.
