Description

1895 N300 Mayo Cut Plug Kid Nichols PSA EX 5 - Pop Two, One Higher. Kid Nichols is not as famous as he should be. Nichols racked up 361 career victories on the mound for the Braves, Cardinals and Phillies and retired with a lifetime 2.95 ERA over a career that lasted 15 years and spanned the centuries. The hurler debuted with the 1890 Boston Beaneaters. He was the youngest pitcher to secure membership in the "300 Wins Club." Oddly, Nichols waited forty-three years following his 1906 retirement before entering the Hall. He would enjoy the honor for four years when, at age eighty-three, he passed away in 1953. Graded PSA EX 5. From a total pop of only twenty-one examples. This is one of only two cards graded EX. Only one has rated higher!
