1934 Rabbit Maranville Single Signed Baseball, Autograph PSA/DNA Mint 9. Soon after having been named manager of the 1925 Cubs, he made his rounds through a Pullman car dumping water on sleeping players' heads and bellowing, "No sleeping under Maranville management, especially at night!" Despite his irreverent nature, the tiny infielder is remembered as one of the era's top talents, earning a Hall of Fame plaque for his efforts. Sadly, that day came months after his passing in January of 1954, limiting the availability of his important autograph to the collecting hobby. Few from that endangered species can compete with this remarkable specimen.The offered Official League Ball contains a nearly unimprovable 9/10 black fountain pen signature which spans from a side panel to the sweet spot. Personalized, the signature is dated to "1934" by the baseball great. A top coating was applied to the toned orb which downgrades the ball to 4 by PSA/DNA. The firm did bestow an overall grade of 6.5 for this fabulous find. Full Grading LOA from PSA/DNA, EX-MT+ 6.5. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
